Claire Lardner Burke has long been fascinated and inspired by the process of time upon nature. The beautiful marks and colours created by age and weathering particularly on rocks and stone.  In her work she seeks to capture something of this quiet and powerful beauty. 

Claire throws and hand coils delicate, light vessels leaving the surfaces rough and marked. She applies oxides and glazes in multiple layers, often through multiple firings, creating an unpredictable and unique beauty in each piece.
